The South African clinical research industry lobby group is inviting industry stakeholders to nominate representatives for the upcoming term.
To allow for continuity, three representatives from the outgoing committee will remain, joining five new additions to make up an eight-member committee for the 2021-2024 term. While the organization’s website does not clearly indicate by when nominations would be closing, the additional representatives are expected to be voted into office in a week’s time, following the announcement made on the 5th of October.
SACRA is the industry lobby group representing stakeholders such as investigational sites, contract research organizations, pharma as well as service providers supporting clinical research across South Africa. At the helm of the outgoing leadership has been Nicolette Scott, an industry veteran who has been lauded for successfully steering the organization through a tumultuous 2020 largely defined by the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown measures implemented to contain it, with the organization having embraced virtual events during that time.
